Plane carrying 239 passengers vanishes in thin air: Search continues for missing persons and aircraft

MALAYSIA Airlines flight MH370 en route from Kuala Lumpur (吉隆坡) to Beijing (北京) disappeared with 239 passengers and crew on board about one hour after it took off. The aeroplane last made contact at 1.30am on 8 March. It was due to arrive in Beijing at 6.30am.
There were 227 passengers onboard including 153 Chinese and 38 Malaysian citizens. The disappearance is a mystery as the jet did not send any distress signals or messages.
Immediately after the incident, many countries joined rescue efforts. Twenty-five countries are now involved, including Vietnam (越南), China, Thailand (泰國), Singapore (新加坡), and the US (美國). So far, no wreckage has been confirmed. Crew, passengers and ground staff are being investigated. They may be related to the disappearance.
According to the International Police, Interpol, two Iranian (伊朗人) men were travelling on stolen passports. However, theories of terrorist attacks were promptly dismissed. Secretary General of Interpol Ronald Noble said, “These two individuals were probably not terrorists.”
